Gadget Guide – Oppo Find X2 Pro
Oppo has been on the market for a very long time and is known for its F Series, A Series and Reno series of Smartphones. The company had unveiled its flagship Find series with the Find X in 2018. The Find X has a motorized module at the top that rises to reveal its front and rear cameras and allow a large screen without a notch.
Oppo is finally adding new phones to this series after a long hiatus. The new Oppo Find X2 and Oppo Find X2 Pro are designed conservatively compared to the Find X, but can you take it forward? I have to spend some time with the Find X2 Pro, and here are my first impressions.
The Oppo Find X2 Pro is clearly OPPO’s new flagship and it looks like the part. It is well designed and corresponds to current trends. Just like The Oppo Find X (Test), The Find X2 Pro has a large display with curved sides. The screen measures 6.7 inches and has thin glasses, which gives this device a screen-to-body ratio of 93.1%. It also uses Corning Gorilla Glass 6, which should withstand daily handling.
This time there is no mechanical sliding module, and the phone has a small puncher for the 32-megapixel Selfie marksman. While I’m happy not to be afraid of a sliding module getting stuck or damaged, this phone is not unique like its predecessor.
I like the way the curved screen hits the thin metal frame of the device. The phone is also solid in the hand. The enter and volume keys are centrally positioned on both sides, making them easy to reach.
I found that The Oppo Find X2 Pro was a bit heavy at 217g. Oppo used ceramic for the back of this device, which gave it a different feel in the hand. If you look closely at the Design, you will notice a concentric circular design. The back absorbs stains, but these are not easily visible.
The camera module is not hidden, as in Find X, and it comes out a bit instead. There is a triple camera setup consisting of a 48-megapixel Wide-Angle camera with a 1: 1.7 aperture, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with a 1: 2.2 aperture, and a 13-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with a 10x hybrid zoom and 60x digital zoom. Having recently tested the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 6 68,799 (Test), I have a good idea of what I can expect from The Oppo Find X2 Pro, but more about this when I check this device.
Oppo opted for a QHD + display (3168×1440 pixels) that offers a refresh rate of 120 Hz even at this resolution. The screen has good brightness and excellent viewing angles. Oppo has the resolution and screen resolution on auto, so the phone can switch between QHD + and FHD + as well as 60Hz and 120Hz, depending on what you do to save power. You can manually choose between different resolutions and refresh rates if you prefer.
There is MEMC (motion estimation and motion compensation) as on the OnePlus 8 Pro, which we recently reviewed. This makes everything smooth on The screen, but limits the resolution only to Full HD+. The Find X2 Pro also has stereo speakers, which is not very common. These have helped improve the video experience and should also improve the games.
The Oppo Find X2 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, coupled with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of memory. You do not have the opportunity to expand the memory, but with 512 GB out of the box, I do not complain. During my limited time, with this Device, it showed no Signs of Lagging and multitasking was a breeze. Oppo Find X2 Pro should be able to handle all games and applications on Google Play.
The Oppo Find X2 Pro works with ColorOS 7.1 on Android 10. Our Unit used April Security Patch is not the most recent. There are a few apps preinstalled on the device, but none of these apps have been spammed with the device during my short time. The interface is clean and easy to navigate, and I had no problem finding the right settings. Android features such as digital wellness, dark mode and gesture navigation are supported.
The Find X2 Pro is equipped with two 2130mah-Equipped Battery with a total Capacity of 4260mAh. Oppo may have chosen this approach to integrate you more effectively into the Find X2 Pro. What I like most about Find X2 Pro is the supplied 65W charger. I used a similar capacity charger when I tested the iQOO 3 (Test). Powered is ridiculously fast and Oppo claims a 38-minute powered time of 0-100% for the Find X2 Pro. I will post my comments for full consideration.
